A 13-week multi-site RCT found that prolonged-release melatonin (2 mg) reduced sleep onset latency by 39 minutes compared to placebo in children aged 4–11 with ASD. Secondary outcomes showed improved total sleep time (+57 min) and fewer night wakings. No serious adverse events were reported.

Omega-3 fatty acid supplementation and ADHD symptom severity: meta-analysis of 22 randomised trials

Meta-analysis of 22 RCTs (n = 1,974) found that combined EPA+DHA supplementation produced consistent improvements in parent-rated inattention (SMD −0.30) and hyperactivity (SMD −0.22). Effect sizes were largest in children with confirmed low omega-3 baseline levels.

Parent-mediated social communication therapy in pre-school children with autism: 6-year follow-up of the PACT trial

Children who received the PACT intervention (parent coaching sessions at ages 2–4) showed significantly better social communication at age 10 compared to treatment-as-usual (ADOS-2 social affect score: −3.2 points, p = 0.003). Gains were maintained regardless of baseline autism severity.
