Overview
NeuroBase is a research platform that helps parents and clinicians find and share neuroscience evidence for neurodivergent children. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. NeuroBase is operated in the United States and this policy is governed by US law.
What we collect
How we use your data
- Personalised feed — your child's diagnoses and topic interests are used to rank and filter research articles.
- Clinical trial matching — zip code is converted to coordinates to calculate distance to trial sites. The coordinates are not stored.
- Weekly digest — if enabled, we email a curated selection of new research matched to your child's profile.
- Research sharing — when you share a package, we email the recipient with a link. No NeuroBase account is required to view it.
- AI summaries — article abstracts and clinical trial eligibility criteria are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate plain-language summaries. Only article content is sent — your personal data and child profile are not included in these requests.
Third-party services
We use the following services to operate NeuroBase:
| Service | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Authentication, user data, and database |
| Anthropic (Claude) | AI plain-language summaries of articles and trials |
| Resend | Transactional email — digests and share notifications |
| Upstash | Caching layer for search and intervention data |
| Typesense | Full-text search index for PubMed articles |
We do not sell your data to any third party or use it for advertising.
Child data
Child profiles describe minors, but the account holder is always a parent, guardian, or clinician — not the child. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account directly, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a child profile, its associated bookmarks, trial matches, and share history are permanently removed. If you delete your account, all data linked to it is deleted.
Your rights
- Access — you can view all data we hold through the app (profiles, bookmarks, shares).
- Correction — you can update your child profile at any time from the Profile page.
- Deletion — you can delete individual child profiles or your entire account.
- Unsubscribe — you can opt out of the weekly digest in Settings or via the unsubscribe link in any email.
Contact
Questions or requests about your data — including account deletion — can be sent to insights@neurobase.us. We will respond within 30 days.
